GeoSpace stimulus

A Detect Event is usually generated from an external source such as a computer-aided dispatch system, ALPR system, gunshot detection system, or something similar. However, Detect VMS can interface with almost any external system that can generate an event that includes a GPS coordinate. The titles for these boxes may be customized based upon need.

When a GeoSpace intrusion occurs, a Detect Event is initiated. Detect VMS categorizes the event as either random, where the incident is not anticipated or the location is random, or non-random, where the location or incident is known and will trigger a predetermined response. Random events are generally triggered by a dispatcher while non-random events are preprogrammed into the GeoSpace.

GeoSpace violations can also be generated by a user with that privilege by clicking the Set User Event button in the main toolbar (see Simulating an alarm for more information). When an alarm event is triggered, a Detect Live View window is automatically engaged, and the camera turns to any and all preset views displaying live camera feeds. The alarm populates the alarm window with live view camera feeds.

Detect Events, including those triggered within a GeoSpace, are automatically exported as an incident once the alarm has been cleared by the user, or when the times out. See Detect Incident View for more information about retrieving incidents.
