See All Users

The See All Users function allows an administrator to quickly check what version of Detect VMS is running on each of the assets in the network system, and access local machine settings. To access See All Users, navigate to the main Detect Map View toolbar, and Select Administrator > See All Users.

The All Users window shows the user name, machine ID, and software version for every user in the system. The Service column indicates if the machine has the auto-update service installed and running. If a machine is inconsistent with the Administrator’s, the version field will show red.

Local Configurations

Click an Edit button to launch the Edit Config window for a particular workstation.

This is where settings for a particular workstation are saved.

Because the physical location of a workstation can impact performance, the Connection Policy tab allows you to customize the settings for the workstation connection to the network and how often it calls back home.

The Verbose Viewer Debugging tab is where cameras are enabled for sending logs. Select a camera and click Add or Remove to maintain the active log list in the right pane.

The Video Buffer tab allows for customized buffer settings to compensate for a slower connection and minimize choppy or lagging video playback.

Other Settings: Check Disable Camera Status Monitoring box to remove the camera from routine pings. The Alarm Lead In value sets a predetermined length of time for video playback prior to an alarm. The default is 5 seconds, which allows for a more natural viewing experience.

Logs

Click a Logs button to compile log files for cameras previously enabled in the Local Config window.

The Log Transfer window opens.

Click the Export Log Files button.

Select a file location to save the log, then click OK.

A confirmation dialog shows where the file was saved.

If you choose to email the log by selecting Send Log Files in the Log Transfer window, the log will be automatically emailed to the address specified in the System Settings window on the Folders tab.
