Alarm notification by email

It is possible for an administrator to configure alarm notification to be sent via email, to a single user or to a group of users.If this capability is enabled, an email is sent to the address associated with the user whenever an alarm is triggered -- or during scheduled hours, if an Alarm Schedule is active.

Assigning email notifications

In many situations it is desirable to notifiy a user by email about an alarm activation.

Navigate to the main Detect Map View toolbar and select Administrator > Edit > System Settings.

1 In the Systems Settings window, click on the Users tab and select the Group and User you wish to assign the notification. Click Edit.

2 In the User Parameters window, enter the email address in the Alarm Email field. Click OK.

3 Click OK to exit the System Settings window.

When this user is scheduled to receive an alarm, the system will send an email notification in addition to the Alarm posting to the Alarms window. See Creating Alarm schedules for more information.

Note: It may be possible to convert an email address to a SMS message. Contact your cellular provider for more information.
