VMS Incident Player

When an incident is exported to a removable media, it is packaged with video and audio files in a self-contained viewer called VMS Incident Player. The viewer behaves like Detect VMS but it is not dependent on access to the NVR to review video and associated notes.

1 Locate the exported incident on the network or computer.

2 Click ‘autorun.’

At first glance, the Incident Player looks just like a Detect Display View window. Note, however, that the only available incident to play back is the one packaged with the viewer. If there are multiple incidents exported they will be shown in the navigation tree, and will be searchable using the search feature below.

3 Load the incident by right clicking on a camera, or drag the camera to an empty viewing pane.

The panes populate with the video feeds, and the timeline is updated to reflect the actual time the incident was recorded. Any associated notes are also available on the timeline.

The blue line in the timeline shows the total time of the video and allows you to navigate within a specific incident. The slider on the lower right is used to adjust the scope of the timeline. Slide left or right show more time or less time. This allows for easier navigation and more accurate time marker placement.

For more information about interacting with the notes on the timeline, see Reviewing an Interview with Notes.

To dismiss the VMS Incident Player, click the X in the upper right corner.
