Camera Coverage Area

A Camera Coverage Area is the field of view of a given camera, taking into consideration the range of the camera, movement capabilities, and any obstacles in the field of view.

If you have administrator privileges, you can set up camera coverages by navigating to Administrator > Edit > Camera Systems. See Configuring camera coverage area for more information.

The Camera Coverage button is available on the Detect Map View main toolbar. It displays the coverage areas of all cameras currently viewable on the screen. The default value is 300 feet, and used by Detect software to determine if a camera is relevant to a Detect Event. When active, the button is green and the coverages show as green polygons on the map.
