Assigning alarm schedules to a group

Alarm schedules can be assigned to groups, or to individual users. Access the settings by navigating to the Detect Map View main toolbar > Administrator > Edit > System Settings.

In this example, we are going to assign the ‘Day Shift’ alert notification to the ‘Administrators’ group.

1 First, click on the Alarm Scheduling tab to make sure you are aware of the available Alarm Profiles, and what they do. Make a note of which profiles to assign to a group (in our case, ‘1) Day Shift’). You will need the number to assign an alarm.

2 Click on the Groups tab.

The Groups settings window is the portal to all the information about and permissions assigned to a group.

3 In the Groups menu, highlight the Group to which you will assign a profile. In the Permissions window, select Alarm Schedule Profile.

Look at the Cameras window for a minute. It is a visualization of the relationship between the group and each camera.

There are three permissions levels available to each group as indicated by the icons: Default, Group, and User. The Default levels are set at the top of the tree, and affect the hierarchy of every camera below them. These defaults can be overridden and modified as necessary.

Let’s assign the Day Shift alarm to the Administrator group at City Hall.

4 Click on the Corona City Hall camera. Using the legend at the top, identify the Group permissions settings icon.

5 Click the number inside the icon. To change a Group setting, you must acknowledge the confirmation window. Click OK.

6 Click the number until you reach the Alarm setting you want. In our example, we wanted to apply schedule 1.

The camera structure icons indicate one of three states. A red icon indicates denied access. A green icon indicates permitted access. A yellow icon indicates inconsistencies in permissions further down in the camera structure (see Group camera structure permissions for more information).

Each alarm needs to be assigned to each camera individually – remember, you’re assigning the intrusion schedule, and the alarm schedule can be applied to any camera for any group or user.

7 When the Alarm permissions are set, click OK. The settings are saved and the System Settings window is dismissed.
