Exporting an Incident

VIEW VIDEO (Exporting an Incident)

Detect VMS provides a unique ability to export watermarked incidents to a safe and secure location to be viewed later on any viewing station connected to the VMS.

From the Detect Map View window, open Detect Display View by navigating to the main toolbar and clicking View Windows > Display.

This brings up a Display View window. To create an Incident, will use existing video footage stored on the VMS. Select the Recorded View tab to access pre-recorded video footage.

1 Using the navigation tree, add the cameras used in the Incident to the viewing space by either right clicking on a camera or dragging it to an empty pane.

Each camera added will be included in the new Incident.

2 Select your date of interest from the calendar. Use the arrows on either side of the month to switch months and click on the date.

The camera footage updates to show video recorded on that specific date.

3 Use the timeline slider at the bottom of the screen to select the specific time window of the new incident. Position the timeline slider at the desired start time of the incident and press the marker button. A start marker pops up indicating the exact start time.

The scope slider can be used to increase or decrease the scope of video shown in the timeline.

4 Drag the timeline slider to the desired end of the incident and press the marker button again.

The video frames between the two markers will be exported as your new incident. If you need to adjust the start or end time, simply drag either marker forward or backward.

5 Once the markers are in place at the beginning and end of the incident timeline, click the Export button.

6 In the popup window, verify the export parameters, then click in the Name field and type in a descriptive name for the incident. Click Save.

A progress bar indicates the incident being exported. The system remains open and you can export multiple incidents at a time.

The incident is now stored and available in the Incident Library.
